Description
GRAPE VARIETY: Malvasía and Viura. Malvasía is a rare and minority variety in Rioja. It thrives in dry climates, poor soils, and is highly sensitive to humidity. The grapes are medium-sized and spherical, and when ripe, they take on a reddish color.
VINEYARD AGE: Over 35 years old.
SOIL: Calcareous clay.
CLIMATE: Mediterranean with Atlantic influence.
WINEMAKING: Under the guidance of Judit, the first woman in the family trained in oenology, a different profile has been created, a new vision of Rioja white wine, Malvasía Valdelana. Harvested in the second week of September. Cold maceration followed, followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature for two weeks. It is stored for three months on its fine lees, protecting it from oxidation and giving it volume and complexity.
VISUALS: Pale yellow with greenish reflections.
NOSE: Very intense, tropical fruit, passion fruit, mango. Hints of stone fruit, apricot, peach, white fruit salad with hints of fennel.
TASTE: Full, silky, and fresh, with acidity balanced by alcohol content. Aftertaste with mineral complexity and white flowers.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: Cold, between 6°C and 8°C.
GASTRONOMY: Pairs excellently with appetizers, tapas, rice dishes, pasta, white meats, and fish.
