Description

Qori (Gold in the Quechua language) refers to the enormous legacy of the exchange between Hispanic culture, and more specifically the Canary Islands, and Ibero-American culture. This name inspires one of Bodegas El Lomo’s most select wines.

It all begins with the grapes being received in chambers at 5ºC to prevent oxidation. Fermentation starts with the skins, followed by maceration for 12 days. Spontaneous clarification occurs on the lees while the wine rests in stainless steel tanks. This process yields a delicate varietal white wine that, after six months in the bottle, reaches the expressive character inherent in the blend of Canarian grapes that comprise it. In this very limited cuvée of 1600 bottles, the grape varieties growing on volcanic soils, include Listán Blanco & Albillo Criollo, followed by Verdello & Gual.

Aromatically speaking, this wine presents fresh tropical notes of smoky pineapple & mango, as well as ripe citrus and a floral touch. On the Palate, it is vibrant and well balanced. The fresh acidity remains , elevated by a creamy texture from its barrel aging to deliver a long and mineral/salty finish.
